March 2011 -Empowering a Community and Enriching a Nation

Komatsu and Denron established a partnership in May 2007 and the Komatsu Denron Community Project was born. The two companies instituted this community-based project introducing Adult Education and Training into this Western Cape area. This initiative is focused on the surrounding community, and specifically considered the unskilled adult members of the community who have not completed their education. Learners attend regularly and full time resulting in fast and effective progression. The results over the last 4 years have been exemplary which is testament to the Triple E Training facilitators, the diligent learners and the unwavering support of the Manager Mr de Wet Smidt and the two companies.

A graduation ceremony was held on 11 March 2011, where the 2010 Statements of Results were issued. What an achievement! 50 learners received statements of results for recent progression at various levels and on different learning areas. This is a remarkable feat as they have progressed each and every year, and never interrupt their studies no matter what. The learners sang several songs expressing their appreciation and gratitude towards Komatsu, Denron and Triple E Training.

This was a humbling, special event, the highlight of which was the song “Never Give Up”. I think this is an inspiration to all of us. Congratulations to each and every learner, you really touched my heart.

We also take this opportunity to let our Japanese associates and friends know that we are praying for them at this extremely difficult time.
