September 2011 -Lifelong Learning is the REALLL thing at Klipfontein Sands

If Klipfontein Sands, their Adult Education and Training learners and Triple E didn’t believe in the positive impact of lifelong learning, they wouldn’t be in their 4th plus year of AET!

The successes of these learners are many. Dube Absolom for example, (back row on left) started the programme at Communication Level 1 Basic and is currently in Communication Level 4. He says that he has learned a lot from AET programme. Themba Lucky (back row on left) is very happy because life has changed in a very positive way as he can now do a lot on his own. Tsenane Thomas (bottom right) says that ABET has changed his life at work and home. He is now a team leader at work, and this could only mean his communication skills have improved a lot because he has to give instructions to his members and report to his superiors.

Although there are quite a number of training and development interventions currently in South Africa, it is sobering to note that there is still much work to do in our beloved country. We are ranked 108 in terms of our illiteracy currently. The illiteracy and innumeracy rates are acceptably high. It is very significant that Klipfontein Sands has embarked on lifelong learning for their employees. Laying the foundation for employees in this way leads to greater results in all aspects of business.

These candidates would be ideal for Triple E Training’s REALLL Training Programme which would leapfrog them into Further Education and Training. REALLL was born in 2005 primarily developed as a unique learning path for learners. REALLL accelerates the achievement of English and Mathematics to NQF 4, without reducing learning to a few disjointed unit standards. By achieving competence at NQF 4 in the two fundamental subjects, learners such as the ones from Klipfontein Sands, can enter any FET Programmes.
