Adult basic training is a requirement for a more productive workforce

A country’s economy can only handle a small percentage of illiterate people. With more people that are skilled at least to Grade 9 level, more economic growth is possible. It is for this reason that we encourage companies to make use of adult basic training programs on offer.

Although illiterate workers can still perform well on the job, it is also true that once basic communication, literacy, and numeric skills have been mastered that the same employees can further their education and become eligible for promotion. The mere frustration that the more than 4.2 million South Africans with no education whatsoever face daily can be eradicated through adult basic training as provided by Triple e.

Considering that more than 13.2 million South Africans have an education level of lower than Grade 9, it is understandable that the economy suffers. If workers become basically skilled in the areas of conversation, reading, writing, mathematics, nature science, economy, and management through adult basic training, more workers can be used in tasks requiring these skills. This will ensure that manual tasks can eventually be automated while the now literate workers can receive higher salaries and thus make a positive contribution to the economy.

As such we invite you to assess the literacy, skills, and education levels of your employees and to book the essential courses available from the most basic to Grade 9 level. Not only will they become a more productive part of your company after completion of the adult basic training, but it will also help alleviate high levels of poverty associated with illiteracy.
