ABET learning plans to empower employees

Employers will agree that basic numerical, literacy, and communication skills are essential in the workplace. Since employees cannot oversee and manage without at least the above skills, it is essential that they become skilled and thus empowered to function on a higher level in the workplace and society. To this end ABET which stands for Adult Basic Education and Training programs plays an important role in the improvement of employee literacy and thus also functionality in the workplace.

Through the ABET literacy and skills development programs employees become empowered not only to contribute more to their work environment, but also to function in the ever changing society of today. As such they become contributors to the economy; alleviating the pressure on financial resources of the society within which they function.

The curriculum includes a Level 0 where the participants learn to identify, write, and use alphabets, consonants, and vowels. There also four levels for communication which includes the main aspects treated in Grade 3 to 9. Conversations, information requesting and supply, listening and orally conveying text are also dealt with. Context forming, organizing text, and applying writing skills are some of the essential skills mastered.

The numeric ABET training includes four levels from Grade 3 to 9 and starts at the most basic adding, subtraction, calculation of time, and fraction solving. It also deals with angles, geometry, word problems, graphs, ratios, and more complex formulas. View our list of ABET training areas and contact us to book one or more courses.
