MATHEMATICAL TRAINING figures it all out

If you don’t know what you’re doing, you can’t solve it. You can know a formula or how to add, subtract, multiply, or divide, but if you can't apply these skills to a work situation, it adds up to nothing. Companies constantly express the need for employees with strong fundamental skills in workplace reading, maths and English The important point is that on the job, merit attaches to knowing how to use math in a work situation.  Mathematical training enables employees who work with measurements to get the right answer. Maths training is designed to build on your employees' existing skills and move them towards successfully completing tasks.

The workplace is the ideal place for situation mathematical training, because learners discover meaning from real life activities such as dealing with bills and accounts, banking and looking after money. Credit at shops and offices, banks, budgets and other everyday events where maths is required will be understood after learning whole numbers, fractions, decimals, metrics, and percents.

Ask any group of adults about the math they use in their work, and they may not recognize some of the work tasks as math tasks, because in many cases the using of maths is obvious - using a calculator, for example. Interpreting charts, correctly recording information in tables or even being able to tell the time to get to work on time; these tasks all use math skills.

The pleasure of figuring out three ways to show that 1/8 equals 12.5% - mathematical training gives entry to many fields of study, be they related to technical or numbers-driven professions. Development of staff with mathematical training levels 1 -4  has to be seen as an investment for the company that will give a return on that investment in improved measurable productivity.  The biggest limitation to shared growth in South Africa is skills and Triple e holds the key to giving adult learners the chance to acquire appropriate life long skills.
