COMMUNICATIONS TRAINING - the power of positive wordsCommunication is all about relationships, and if you want a successful relationship you need to know how to communicate effectively, whether its with your boss or your colleagues, because the way personnel communicate with each other can make all the difference between efficiency, success or failure, and how satisfying you find your job. Communications training means management must face the challenge of formulating strategies to encourage personnel to communicate effectively. Good communication needs to start at the very top of the organization by senior management setting the example, through continually providing a constant stream of information to staff about the strategies, policies and procedures the organization intends to adhere to. Triple e is committed to developing employees’ literacy competencies so that they can add value to work performance, and communications training is an outcomes-based course which allows learners to progress through the four ABET levels. Communication and interaction skills, telephone and front line skills will ensure employees can write letters and e-mails with confidence, and convey oral messages effectively. Of course, recognizing that people come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, care needs to be taken to ensure that cultural differences in both verbal and nonverbal communication are considered, and communications training is provided to staff to assist in this process. When all parties have the dignity and self-worth of others in mind, it sets the foundations for successful communication. All organizations have rules for the transfer of information, and understanding how to use the different types of communication and following the correct procedures will help to ensure that information goes to the correct place and person. If you need to go to the director or head of the company you will be advised to discuss the matter first with your supervisor. Completing communications training means that your ideas and opinions can be evaluated by others more easily.
