CLASSES FOR BASIC EDUCATION
will avoid continual frustration

For any country to keep abreast of developments, it is important to ensure that both government and industry fund development initiatives for the previously disadvantaged; because the importance of classes for basic education and training is one of the main pillars in the development of our human resources. Those who missed primary school, or left school before achieving literacy, are largely those who come from the poorest groups in society, and as the challenges of the twenty-first century obviously cannot be met by the illiterate masses; government, organizations and institutions, with their energy and imagination must participate in every aspect of ensuring basic education for all, to eradicate boredom and frustration in the workplace.

The provision of skills programs has to take into account the indigenous, cultural and knowledge systems and practices of the illiterate in determining how they can be best integrated with classes for basic education, because it is through such integration that skills intervention will also contribute to a growing corpus of knowledge on the role of adult education in sustainable development.

Classes for basic education means enabling people to learn at different times and in different ways at various stages of their lives and careers, and in response to the constantly changing conditions of modern life, will lead to the systematic acquisition, upgrading and completion of knowledge and skills.

The ABET Institute and other ABET centres have grown since the advent of democracy in 1994; which is a result of the massive need for adult education in South Africa, and adult learners are taught basic reading, writing and numeracy skills that enable them to work effectively in a range of areas.

Triple e actively supports the right to knowledge and the pursuit of knowledge by all illiterate adult members of society and serves companies who wish to help their employees benefit from classes for basic education.
