ABET
ADULT BASIC TRAINING CENTRE
The hope of the illiterate
All around the country there are Adult Basic Training Centres doing very good work. Change is constant in the workplace, and these training centres are undoubtedly the first step towards ensuring that employees are able to adapt to changes and add value within the workplace. They play a pivotal role in improving productivity levels within the workplace.
ABET provides communication, numeracy and life skills to adults who have had limited primary or secondary education, or who need some improvement in these areas.
It is the hope that Adult Basic Training Centres will create a pool of skilled workers, but also ensure that learners who graduate from these training centres are actually employable, thus making a determined effort to improve the market value and relevance of the programs offered by Further Education and Training (FET) colleges and Higher Education institutions.
Training teachers:
Students come to adult basic training centres, sometimes with a wealth of experience, and our courses aim to build a firm base of expertise and knowledge, essential to the well-trained adult educator. The training courses enable them to develop and to increase their capacity for teaching. A diploma will provides an entry-level qualification at the Higher Education level (NQF Level 5).
Any adults who want to attain qualifications in a flexible environment, may register with an ABET centre. Education at Adult Basic Training Centres like Triple e is not limited to basic literacy skills. By including further subjects in computer literacy and others, such as life orientation, technology, agriculture, and business economics, learners are introduced to a much wider spectrum of knowledge and educational opportunities, providing a gateway to so much more.
