The minings qualification authority and training

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Many South Africans lack the skills to enable them to improve their level of education. The Mining Qualifications Authority and MERSETA endeavour to change the lives of these people by providing them with basic education that will give them skills to allow them access to further education and self development. Employers within the industry can register with MERSETA and apply for funding to assist in this education. The Adult Basic Education and Training programme is the preferred means of providing basic education to illiterate or under educated individuals. Employees will be assessed to find out their current level of skills and training and skills development will begin at the appropriate level.
