When thinking of practical Maths training for the workplace you immediately think about Mathematical literacy. Although true in the sense that we do provide Mathematical literacy training from the most basic level to the highest NQF level, it in fact means – training employees from the level that they are comfortable with and building on their existing skills set to ensure that the Mathematics can be applied to the workplace. This means that practical Maths training for the workplace is aimed at giving employees the skills to apply in a sense that will help them with complex calculations, presentation of information and the interpretation thereof. It can be applied to real life scenarios. The workers will be able to apply their knowledge of graphs, measurements, currencies, and more to the situations at work.

Today more than ever before, people without adequate mathematics training suffer economically as well as socially. The global economical crisis has led to large scale unemployment and being in a country with millions of illiterate or only partially literate people, means that if someone does not have the basic or even advanced mathematics skills , that the person will struggle to get a job. As such it is vital to support mathematics training for your employees , whether the domestic worker, farm worker or factory worker, you will empower them through literacy and mathematics training. It may be that your company one or other time will need to retrench people. By giving them access to literacy and mathematics training and ensuring that they are better skilled to find suitable alternative employment you show that you care about the economy. Our social responsibility starts at home and at our workplaces.
