Life skills’ training involves teaching a person how to function properly in their communities as well as society at large. These skills include being able to communicate within any environment. The training teaches them how to complete documents so that they are able to open bank accounts and have access to other institutions. It shows them how to apply for employment and what they need for the application to be successful such as a CV. The courses and programmes are aimed at helping under privileged or uneducated members of society function and gain knowledge on how to improve their lives.

By setting aside a portion of profit for Adult basic education and training programs business has quickly reaped the benefits of a more educated workforce. By enrolling illiterate employees in ABET level 1 programs illiteracy is being addressed on a daily basis. Employees are also committed to training staff in life skills so that they are better equipped to cope with the stresses of a modern lifestyle. ABET training programs also provide employees with skills such as how to operate an ATM or take telephone messages more effectively. This combination of business and life skills is addressing the failings of the apartheid educational system so that every citizen of South Africa can contribute to the success of the nation.

The aim of literacy training for adults is to teach them how to read, write, understand and most importantly communicate in a language that they are either not familiar with or just haven’t had the opportunity to properly study at one or other stage in their lives. The purpose is to obtain all these skills in a shorter period that you would have had to endure at school, and this is all very possible with our 4 level ABET literacy training course.
Communication is one of the most important social factors in the world, too many misunderstandings with historical and disastrous consequences have occurred merely because of a lack of communication or some misinterpretation.
Literacy training is crucial for any adult who lack these basic skills, so to find out more about our ABET level and how you and therefore your company can benefit from it, contact us now.

All members of a company should occupy some level of leadership qualities, whether you have the leadership position as CEO or director and therefore need to delegate all members of staff or whether you’re a secretary with few leadership responsibilities you still have to be able to take a stand and make things happen. Leadership training is a crucial part of any company and is applicable to all members of staff who want to be a part of the corporate puzzle. The fact is that many people weren’t placed in apposition as scholar to participate in any activities where they could position themselves into the role of a leader, and therefore many adults lack these essential skills.

Although our focus is on adult literacy and numeracy we recognize the importance of life skills learning programs. As the society develops and becomes more complex, the focus also changes to become information orientated. As such people need more life skills to be able to survive in the digitized society. Life skills learning will also benefit adults in voting, politics, economics, and the labour market. Life skills learning encompass all the required skills to function in the modern day society. From literacy, numeracy, and communication, to problem solving skills and computer literacy as well as the ability to work with modern equipment are important. Employers cannot afford to have a workforce that is illiterate, numerically unskilled and unable to work with modern day technology. As such we recommend that you contact us for an ABET life skills learning program for your employees.

There are various types of life skills training courses. One of the essential life skills training courses entail AIDS awareness. This includes background on how AIDS is transmitted, what steps to take to prevent transmission, how to handle infection, and where to get help. AIDS is not a problem that can be ignored and with so many people already infected, employers must take steps to empower employees with knowledge through life skills training programs. Steps such as hygiene, diet, lifestyle choices and more are also addressed. Rather than having an unproductive workforce and high costs because employees are infected and don’t know how to live with it, make a positive contribution towards fighting the effects of AIDS through life skills training programs for your employees.
