Business Finance Course

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

There are various ways in which you can study a business finance course. You can enrol in a business school or other education institution where you will have to attend lectures and receive instruction from a teacher, professor or other professional. For those people who work and cannot attend lectures during the day, a night course is ideal although it may take longer to complete the course. Another way is to apply to a distance learning educational institution and study the course on your own from home. Whichever means of study that you choose, studying a business finance course will enable you to function better in a work environment and may even allow you to run your business.

How to Manage Basic Business Finance

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

You can ensure that your employees know the importance of how to manage basic business finance within your company. A staff member, who is aware that every phone call or pencil they use affects the bottom line of your business which in turn affects them, will be more efficient in the handling of your company’s resources. Thus it is important to offer your employees the necessary training through an adult basic education and training course. You can also ensure that you keep your employees involved in the financial successes and failures of the company. Communicate to them any losses and they will rise to try and accomplish more because it is their jobs and livelihood at stake as well as the financial well being of your company.

How to Apply Business Concepts

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Sending your employees on a business course will allow them to better apply business concepts in their work. It is important for them to realise that they are a cog in the machine that is your company and that without the function that the cog provides, the machine will break down. They will also realise the importance of maintaining the machine, your business, and ensure that they function to the best of their ability. You can also play a role in this maintenance by making sure that your employees are well educated and happy in their personal lives. The success of your company depends on your employees and the benefits that they bring to your business.

Keeping up the good work

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Big business in South Africa has committed itself to the principles of adult basic education and training. This commitment has had a concrete effect with many adults who had been denied a quality education under the Apartheid system now having at least a basic working knowledge of both the written word and mathematics. These basic skills are allowing them to improve their lives in ways that they might have only dreamed about only a few years ago. However, the commitment of both big business and government must continue, the problem of illiteracy is by no means solved and only by rolling out new, more comprehensive programs can we hope to deal with this problem.

ABET and PPP

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

If South Africa is to take its place in the family of nations and contribute on a global scale to the elimination of poverty, as well as address the social and economic needs of its own citizens then it quite simply must address the problem of illiteracy in this country. One of the most important outreaches that can be rolled out is adult basic education. By putting in place the correct infrastructure and allowing people access to funding so that they can take part in ABET programs the government and private business will be directly contributing to rectifying the wrongs of the past, where a large percentage of the South African population was denied a quality education.

The kinder face of business

Monday, February 1st, 2010

Business has a reputation for putting profit above all else, however in South Africa business has shown a commitment to changing this reputation through concrete actions. Business, in close cooperation with government has been aggressively rolling out ABET programmes that are making a real difference to people’s lives in communities across the land. By reducing illiteracy rates ABET programmes have the ability to allow people to reach for their dreams, without a basic knowledge of reading and writing these South African citizens would never have been afforded the opportunity of contributing in any meaningful way to the south African economy or bettering their own lives.

ABET and big business

Monday, February 1st, 2010

Businesses across South Africa are finding out that ABET programmes do not just correct the injustices of the past apartheif educational system but in fact bring tangible business benefits. Studies have shown that ABET programmes increase productivity through higher staff morale. It has also been demonstrated that when an ABET programme is set up by an organisation then staff turnover is reduced and absenteeism is also reduced. Studies have also shown that staff loyalty is increased as well. It goes without saying that ABET programmes also increase productivity, because an educated workforce can produce far more than an illiterate one.

Training is key

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

Education is enshrined in the South African constitution as a basic human right. Unfortunately this was not always so. Under the Apartheid educational system only a select few were provided a world class education and even this was skewed by the propaganda requirements of the government. However those who were not amongst the privileged few received either a sub standard education or none at all. This is the legacy that Adult Basic Education and Training is striving to eradicate. ABET programs are making a difference to the lives of people across South Africa. By bringing literacy to the dis empowered ABET programs are changing lives.

An educated workforce is a must

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

The role of Adult Basic Education and training in changing the economic destiny of South Africa should not be underestimated. As South Africa’s natural commodities grow scarcer and as the job of simply getting them out of the Earth becomes more costly and dangerous so the economic emphasis must change to one of a knowledge economy where the products are primarily value added (for example jewelry making) or the product of ideas (consultancy services). If this change is to be successful then South Africa needs an educated workforce. The various ABET programs being rolled out across South Africa are the first step in this direction.
