Understanding ABET Levels With Triple E Training

It is a sad reality in South Africa that so many adults do not have a grip on basic reading, writing and mathematical skills. However that is changing. We at Triple E Training are proud of the impact we are making in communities and individuals’ lives with the training of the ABET levels. Through working with business and industry, we are educating South African adults through Adult Basic Education Training.

Our ABET levels product range include the following:

  • Placement Assessments – we perform an assessment of each participant to establish where they are in regards to their reading, writing and mathematical abilities. This puts us in a better position to tailor the course around their needs so that applicants will receive the most benefit out of the courses
  • ABET Awareness Campaigns
  • Individual Reporting
  • Learner Materials
  • Portfolios of Evidence
  • Outsourced ABET Facilitation
  • Quality Assurance
  • Project Management
  • Demographic Reporting

We also do various short courses aimed at power boosting our candidates. Individual pre-assessments are also performed on each candidate to secure the correct placement. The short course skills in Zulu, Tswana and Xhosa for mother-tongue English and Afrikaans speakers consist of the following three study units:

  • Greetings, and asking about someone’s health and family names
  • The workplace will be covered in extensive detail. This unit can be customised to suit the company’s procedures and preferences, whichever they may be and
  • Shopping for groceries and clothes, etc

The basic language skills course is approximately 32 hours long. If required a post-assessment of the student can also be performed so as to judge the level of competency and progress of the student. Students will also be able to acquire an ABET Level 1 Communication qualification once they are able to demonstrate competence, the duration of this course being 100 hours.

Other NQF Level 1 ABET courses consist of:

  • Numeracy and Mathematics
  • Communication
  • Natural Sciences
  • Economic Management Sciences
  • Life Orientation
  • Technology
  • Arts and Culture
