Reading Skills - The Key To Development

Learning reading skills is critical to a person's success in life, and one of the best predictors of whether a person will function competently and go on to contribute actively in our increasingly literate society, it's the level to which the person progresses in reading. Reading skills will equip anyone with the ability to approach an unknown word confidently, to break it up into parts or syllables, to correctly sound out these word parts and then to blend them together into a meaningful word.

Reading is such a pleasurable activity that provides so many benefits, and when done on a regular basis, reading helps develop language and listening skills and prepares people to recognize the written word. Reading skills are specific abilities which enable a person to -

  • read the written form as meaningful language
  • to read anything written with independence and comprehension
  • to mentally interact with the message. Acquiring strategies to understand, remember and communicate what is read, or reading comprehension are the steps readers use to make sure they understand the text, as those who are in control of their own reading comprehension become purposeful and active employees in a business.

A culture of ignorance has been carried over from the past and many adults can't even read a newspaper as policies were designed to limit access to education, and the consequences of this was that millions of adults passed through the education system with less than 9 years of schooling. But now there is access to reading skills for all because centres like Triple E Training have been established in many towns where people are made aware of the importance of reading skills.

Quality education provided at a Centre is the one that will attract more learners, and recruiting learners is one thing, sustaining them until the final exam is another, and is only possible if the centre is organized and the educators are dedicated and enthusiastic in teaching reading skills. Triple E Training is such a centre where success is the name of the game.
