September 2010 - Happy Happy 19 Years in Training and Development
Triple e Training Holdings (PTY) Ltd is proud to be celebrating its 19th birthday! 19 years of training and education. When we reflect on the 19 years, we are in awe of how much has changed, been developed and grown in Basic and Higher Education and Training in South Africa. And changed for the good…………..Yip, it’s our party and we can cry if we want to, but we’re celebrating all the positives only!
In the Address at Inaugural Women’s Legacy Dialogue, by Mrs Angie Motshekga, Minister of Basic Education, Sandton Sun: 13 August 2010, she stated that:
“Quality education plays a fundamental role in transforming society”.
We are in total agreement with The Minister and believe that all Training Providers, private and public, need to maintain quality of the highest degree. If we collectively maintain this quality, we will be a winning nation – for another 19 years at least.
We strive for this quality at Triple e Training Holdings (PTY) Ltd and have thus continuously developed new ABET and FET materials, a new Learning Management System (WECOZA) that is updated every day with ABET and FET stats, new facilitator training methods and guides for ABET and FET Courses, and new administrative systems. We have faith that this quality has reached many new learners. Minister Motshekga, in the same address, spoke of some excellent statistics:
“Research has shown that 98% of young people aged 7 to 15 are involved in education programmes. Youth literacy in South Africa is at 90%, which is above the average of developing countries. The adult literacy rate has reached 77%, bringing South Africa in line with the average for developing countries”
Well, then we have REAL reason to celebrate! Long live quality education and training in ABET, FET, fundamentals, REALLL learning and all related activities!
Lastly, to borrow a phrase from the ANC’s NGC Draft Discussion document on Strategy and Tactics (2010), it is crucial to focus on education because:
“Access to quality education for all is critical not only to economic and social development, but also a key instrument of social mobility and addressing inequality.”
Government cannot bring “about a different outcome” alone. Working together we can achieve equal opportunities and progress for all.
Happy Birthday Triple e Training and thank you to you, our learners and clients, for being a major part of our reaching 19 years of age!
