Article for the Bidpaper Plus Post - December 2009
The Bidpaper Plus group has embarked on a drive to upgrade the skills and qualifications of employees. In order to do this, group HR has arranged for Adult basic education and training (ABET) training for all divisions.
ABET Training at Silveray Manufacturing started on the 18th May 2009. The employees that are on the training program are really enjoying it and learning a lot. Below are their comments about the training and photos of the learners in training.

Fikile, Files Department
My name is Fikile and I want to talk about my training. I like it very much because everyday I get something good in my lessons. I like my teacher Ntabiseng very much as she is a good teacher. She gives us all what we expect to get from her and when you ask her for something, she explains to you in a good manner. I like my work book, even at home in my spare time, I take it and revise my work. If there is something that I do not understand, I ask my teacher and we discuss it together.

My name is Pretty. I enjoy learning because it helps me with everything like speaking English. I like my teacher. She teaches us how to speak and she is a good teacher. I am happy about her. I would like t continue being part of this class because I want to get more. Thank you.

I am feeling happy abou the lessons. I've learnt a lot and I see myself improving in English. Our teacher is a good caring person. I'm so happy to have a teacher like her and she's my role model. In conclusion, I like to thank our management for giving us this opportunity to learn.

I must say that I'm really enjoying this education programme. We have a wonderful teacher. I like the way she explains and simplifies our work and makes it so easy for us. It's really a great opportunity for me because when I was young I had to drop out of school because there was no income at home. Now I've been given a second chance, hopefully I will complete my matric and apply for a better job and salary.

I am happy about what the company is doing for us. I really enjoy learning and we have a wonderful teacher. We enjoy the way she is teaching us, she explains the work and expresses it to us. I am working in the company for 22 years and it's the first time something like this happens. I passed my std 8 and left school at std 9. Things were tough at home as my dad passed away and my mother had to work and support us as we had a big family. This is a good opportunity for me to get my matric certificate and get a better job and earn more money.

I highly appreciate thisn chance of airing my views concerning my learning. I like to thank the company for giving us this golden opportunity, not forgetting our facilitator who is doing excellent work. I am gaining more and I hope that I shall be more fluent at the end of the studies. I hope the company will never stop developing the workers.
