EMPOWERING SOUTH AFRICANS
ABET allows people to realise potential.
"It is often amazing to see the difference in an individual after he/she has received effective adult basis education and training (ABET)," says Lance Clack of Triple e Training, one of South Africa's leading five ABET, learner ship and Further Education and Training (FET) providers. "Assisting people to communicate more effectively and increase their literacy levels helps to boost their confidence, widen their horizons and encourages them to explore their talents. Effective ABET allows South Africans to grow and realize their full potentials".
Clack commented that many employers take their own education and training for granted, and they are rarely aware just how large an obstacle poor communication skills and literacy can be to those employees who want to develop further skills. Triple e's ABET training aims to provide a stepping stone for learners to higher education and training, as well as to other diverse business opportunities presented along the way.
"We aim to equip our learners for life - within the spheres in which they live and work," stated our Triple e account manager, Samson Baloyi. "This is why we assess the specific needs of each organization or industry thoroughly who contracts our services - we then develop learning materials that are relevant to that specific industry".
Clack explained that Triple e Training provides a wide range of services associated with ABET, including assessment, the development of learner material, facilitator evaluations and project management. As earlier noted, materials and courses are usually customized to suit the specific needs of a company, industry and/or level of learning required and the materials are written in accordance with the latest South African Qualifications Authority registered ABET unit standards. All facilitators are fully trained and able to deal with combined National Qualifications Framework levels. Where possible, people from the unemployed sector of the population are trained as facilitators and are subjected to a stringent selection process.
Baloyi said that the Triple e Training Holdings group, which incorporates the WRAP Gauteng and WRAP Free State corporations, has a proven national track record. The company has achieved outstanding results not only with large SA organizations, such as Volkswagen, Netcare, Lafarge, Sasol and Iscor, but also with smaller concerns with only one or two individuals to train, -as may be found in the financial and accounting services sector. In addition, the business has undertaken projects on behalf of a number of sector Education and Training Authorities. It currently has 400 facilitators on book and is training between 30-40 new facilitators every month.
For Triple e Training Holdings, however, it is not about being the biggest or most financially successful, but about developing South Africans and providing an outstanding service to clients. The organisation's credo is "We educate and empower South Africa". This is not just idle boasting - Triple e does in fact have the best national pass rate of 99% and is the fastest growing company in the sector. It is also noticeably evident that the organization is deeply passionate about its work.
